I used to think people talking about modular chains were just "architecture enthusiasts arguing," and it didn't seem to have much to do with someone like me who just places orders and waits. The most obvious change in my experience is actually pretty mundane: transfers and interactions are less painful, and situations where the entire chain slows down when one part gets congested happen less often; also, running the same application on different layers and switching between wallets can be a bit annoying, but at least I don't get hit with fees every time.

As for the recent extreme fluctuations in funding rates, whether people are arguing about a reversal or continuing to squeeze the bubble in the group chat, I personally care more about not letting emotions drive my trades... No matter how impressive modularity is, the ups and downs are still driven by human nature. I'll wait until my limit orders get filled first.
