In the past couple of days, I’ve been looking at projects around re-staking/sharing security again. When the returns stack up layer by layer, it’s really easy for a person to get swept up in the hype… to put it plainly, are we stacking up rights, or are we stacking up illusions? Sometimes I can’t even tell the difference. Especially now, L2s are arguing every day about TPS, fees, and ecosystem subsidies— the louder the arguments get, the more I want to pull my hand back a little: subsidies can be stopped, but you can’t just toss the security pot away.

As for me, I took 12U and tested it with a one-time wallet as a trial. After the on-chain interactions, I just left it there and waited about ten minutes to see whether there were any strange authorizations or callbacks. If nothing’s wrong, then we’ll talk. In any case, even if the touchpoints are dispersed, don’t treat “more points” as “no risk,” and don’t think “shared security” is a free lunch… that’s all for now.
