ME News Report, April 7 (UTC+8), there is uncertainty regarding the timetable for Kevin Wirth’s confirmation as Federal Reserve Chair, due to major Republican senators opposing the advancement of his nomination while the current Chair Powell remains under investigation. The New York Fed President and Vice Chair of the Federal Open Market Committee, Williams, stated that this uncertainty is not an issue for the Federal Reserve. The FOMC voted earlier this year to appoint Powell as Chair of the policy committee, and before Wirth’s confirmation, Powell can continue to serve in this role. Williams said, “We are just focused on doing our own work. There is no issue of continuity within the committee.” (Jin10) (Source: ODAILY)
