Oh, I didn't realize that ZKsync Lite has an expiration date! Matter Labs will shut everything down on May 4th, like in a few days. That network, which was the first zero-knowledge rollup on Ethereum back in 2020, is being retired because ZKsync Era already does everything it did and much more, with support for smart contracts as well.

What caught my attention: there’s still money locked there. According to L2BEAT, about $33.9 million is currently sleeping in ZKsync Lite. Most of it is stablecoins 2020T(, there’s quite a bit of ETH too )8.4 million(, some BTC and other assets. If you have anything there, the team is asking to withdraw by May 4th, because after that it gets more complicated, you know?

The good thing is that Era and the rest of the ZKsync ecosystem are unaffected. Only Lite is leaving the scene. They will keep the read-only API for at least another year, so you can still access the data later. But like, if you have funds there, it’s better not to wait until the last minute.
