Abstract generation in progress

Anthropic’s AI model Claude announces an expansion of its Connectors feature, extending its support scope from professional office tools to everyday life applications. Users can now directly call on applications within the chat interface for services such as making dining reservations, planning trips, and filing taxes, further strengthening the day-to-day practicality of AI agents.

From the office to everyday life: Claude adds daily applications and builds an all-purpose AI assistant

After Claude Directory launched the Connectors feature in July last year, it has already accumulated more than 200 applications added to the linked directory. The application categories span financial management, design collaboration, and productivity tools. According to the latest data, the trend of users connecting multiple applications within a single conversation has clearly increased. Project leads can extract data from analytics tools, generate briefing files in real time, and link the results to a work management platform—an entire workflow can be completed entirely within the Claude interface. This update brings AI agents into the realm of personal daily life, including tools such as AllTrails, Booking.com, Instacart, Audible, Spotify, and TripAdvisor, enabling AI agents to further help users with everyday application scenarios such as planning leisure and entertainment, as well as filing taxes.

The system provides “non-commercial” recommendations based on conversation context

On the technical application side, Claude has improved the way it presents connected apps in the conversation. The system will dynamically recommend suitable tools based on the conversation context. When users put forward specific needs—such as planning a weekend hike or searching for flights—the system will provide recommendations based on the user’s preferences and context. Taking outdoor sports as an example, users can ask Claude to recommend hiking routes; AllTrails can directly display results that meet the criteria. Users can then immediately request filters such as route distance or conditions like being pet-friendly, without needing to switch to other webpages or apps. If multiple tools can complete the task, the system will list the options side by side for the user to decide which service to use as the final choice.

Claude promises to always stay ad-free

The development team emphasizes that Claude will maintain an ad-free mode. Sponsored content or paid ad placements will not appear in the conversation. When multiple connectors operate at the same time, the sorting criteria will depend only on how useful it is for the user, and there will be no commercial promotional content. In terms of privacy protection, once a user authorizes a connector to a specific service, Claude only represents the user to access data from that application. This information will not be used to train the model, and third-party applications cannot obtain other content from the conversation. In addition, for any actions involving booking, payment, or purchasing, the system must obtain the user’s explicit authorization and confirmation before executing, ensuring that the user retains final control.

Connectors are currently available to users of all desktop plan options, while mobile device functionality is still in the testing stage. Users can find tools through the official directory and click to complete installation and management. After connecting, the tools can be used in every subsequent conversation.
