Bitmine Increases $320 Million in Staking, Ethereum Staking Rate Exceeds 70%

On April 24, Bitmine, an Ethereum reserve company founded by Tom Lee, added approximately $320 million in ETH staking in the past 24 hours, bringing over 70% of its total holdings into staking for yield generation. On-chain data shows that around 75,600 ETH were transferred to Coinbase Prime for staking on Thursday morning, following approximately 61,200 ETH being allocated on Wednesday, marking the first large-scale operation in nearly three weeks. Blockchain analysis platform Lookonchain indicates that Bitmine has cumulatively staked about 3.5 million ETH, valued at around $8.1 billion, which accounts for approximately 70.1% of its total holdings. Additionally, reports suggest that three new wallets suspected to be associated with the company received about 100,000 ETH (approximately $23.4 million) before Thursday; if confirmed, its total holdings would rise to about 5.08 million ETH. In comparison, the second-largest holder in the industry, SharpLink, currently holds only about 869,000 ETH, making Bitmine’s scale lead exceed 580%. The company now controls over 4.1% of the total Ethereum supply, nearing its target level of 5%.
