Abstract generation in progress

Crypto World News reports that Pi Network has announced that all mainnet node operators must upgrade to Protocol 22 by April 27. Nodes that do not upgrade on time will automatically disconnect from the network. The Pi Network core team stated that the upgrade requires strict version consistency to maintain network synchronization and stability. Protocol 22 introduces dual interface settings, allowing node operators to use both the node screen and desktop application simultaneously, making it easier to check balances and access network functions from a computer. Node operators need to update their software to version 0.5.4, with the upgrade process expected to be completed within 15 minutes. Pi Network also expanded its testnet smart contract tools on April 17, launching smart contract capabilities that support subscription services. Protocol 22 is seen as the foundation for Protocol 23, which is expected to launch full smart contract functionality in May 2026.
