Iran refuses to reach a temporary ceasefire agreement, demands charges for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz

ME News Report, April 7 (UTC+8), Tehran has refused to reach any temporary ceasefire agreement with the United States. Tehran has set preconditions for talks with the U.S. on “lasting peace.” The preconditions include an immediate halt to attacks, guarantees that attacks will not happen again, and compensation for damages. Under the permanent peace agreement, Tehran demands to charge fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with fees varying based on the type of ship, cargo carried, and current passage conditions.
