In Belarus, rules have been outlined for crypto banks - ForkLog: cryptocurrencies, AI, singularity, the future

belarus# In Belarus, rules for crypto banks have been outlined

The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus has adopted a document that defines the list of cryptocurrencies permitted for crypto banks and the procedure for operations with them. This was announced by Alexander Egorov, Deputy Chairman of the regulator’s board, according to Sputnik.

The provisions are introduced under the decree “On Crypto Banks and Certain Issues of Control in the Sphere of Digital Token (Tokens)”.

The initial list includes 26 digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Toncoin, and a number of stablecoins.

The National Bank has also defined 11 permitted cryptocurrency operations: deposits, loans, collateral, staking, transfers from one individual or legal entity to another, issuance of their own tokens by crypto banks, exchange, storage, and so on.

Clarifying the procedure for operations is considered one of the most important parts for financial companies, as it affects accounting and other aspects of running a business.

Egorov noted that the presented list “is not closed yet.” In his view, when the document was discussed with the High-Tech Park (HTP), it was planned to make it “live,” with the possibility of being revised as work with investors progresses.

Recall that in February, Belarus reported plans to legalize cryptocurrency payments for self-employed individuals.
