I noticed something interesting when looking at the data from February 2026. Bitcoin showed a really disappointing performance that month, with a return of -14.94%. This is the third-worst monthly performance since 2013, which shows how brutal February was for Bitcoin prices.
And that's not all. Ethereum performed even worse, with -19.81% for the same month. It is also the third-lowest since 2017. Honestly, these figures are far from the historical February averages. Usually, Bitcoin averages about 11.11% this month, and Ethereum around 8.53%.
So, February 2026 turned out to be a very negative month for the two biggest cryptos. Bitcoin news and its prices in February really disappointed investors.
