Just saw that the Ethereum Foundation has set up a new Task Force for DeFi development. This is actually an interesting development, considering how important DeFi has become for the ecosystem.

The Task Force was established in the area of application relationships and is intended to drive forward new protocols. What’s especially notable is the staffing: Charles St. Louis, who previously was CEO at DELV and worked as a Governance-Architekt at MakerDAO, takes on the role of DeFi-Protokoll-Spezialist. Also on board is Ivan, one of the founders of the Gearbox Protocol, who will serve as the DeFi coordinator.

This shows that the foundation is truly bringing in people with real DeFi experience. Charles knows governance, and Ivan brings practical protocol knowledge. The Task Force will also work with the Privacy working group, suggesting that privacy and DeFi are being thought of together.

In the background, the "DeFipunk" initiative is also running, which is intended overall to promote DeFi development. It looks like a coordinated approach to strengthen the ecosystem. Moves like these show that the Foundation is actively investing in protocol development. Anyone following the DeFi landscape should keep an eye on this Task Force.
