Wow, I can’t believe it—I read about Foom Cash: they had a serious hack for $2.26 million. But then a white hat hacker named Dukha stepped in and saved almost everything! He returned $1.84 million, meaning 81% of what was stolen. Honestly, it’s really interesting how this even happened—turns out there was a security flaw in the Groth16 verifier, and they pushed through it using fake proofs.

The coolest part is that the white hat hacker didn’t just steal and walk away—he quickly noticed the problem and closed the loophole. He effectively saved the ecosystem. The company Decurity also helped recover funds in Ethereum. For this work, Dukha received $320,000, and Decurity also got $100,000 for its services. Stories like these are what you get in crypto—sometimes a white hat hacker turns out to be a savior, not an enemy. I wonder how many more such vulnerabilities are still waiting to be discovered?
