I discovered something fascinating while digging through the archives – the connections between Epstein and the early Bitcoin ecosystem were much deeper than previously thought. Between 2002 and 2017, he donated $850,000 to MIT to support a digital currency initiative that funded Bitcoin Core developers, including Gavin Andresen. What really intrigues me is the scope of his involvement. The documents show that Epstein had direct meetings with key figures in the crypto ecosystem – notably the co-founder of a major stablecoin project and Larry Summers, former U.S. Treasury Secretary. They specifically discussed Bitcoin and its future. There's also this interesting anecdote: he consulted Steve Bannon on cryptocurrency taxation and token distribution. And look at this – Amazon archives reveal that Epstein bought books on Bitcoin and Ethereum in 2017. It’s almost as if Bitcoin really interested that universe at the time. These revelations remind us that the early days of Bitcoin involved much more diverse actors than we thought, including some of the most controversial. It puts the whole story of early adoption into perspective.
