ME News Report, April 13 (UTC+8), the U.S. Central Command announced that U.S. Central Command forces will begin implementing a maritime blockade of all shipping entering and exiting Iranian ports at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on April 13 (10 p.m. Beijing time today).
This blockade will be enforced equally on all ships from all countries entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas (including all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman).
Central Command forces will not hinder the freedom of navigation for ships traveling to and from non-Iranian ports through the Strait of Hormuz.
Before the blockade begins, more information will be provided to commercial mariners through official notices.
All mariners are advised to monitor “Maritime Notices” broadcasts and contact U.S. Navy forces via Bridge-to-Bridge Channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz entrance areas.
