ME News message. On April 22 (UTC+8), Federal Reserve chair nominee Kevin Wosh said, “I feel deeply honored to receive the president’s nomination. If I am ultimately appointed to become the Federal Reserve chair, I will be an independent decision-maker.” Wosh said this while responding to questions raised by Louisiana Senator John Kennedy, adding that he would never become the president’s “puppet.” Wosh also said that Trump did not ask him to make any commitments regarding certain interest rate decisions. Wosh said, “The president has never asked me to make any commitments regarding any specific interest rate decisions, and that is beyond doubt. And even if he made such a request, I would never agree.” (Source: Jintou)
