Microsoft partners with NABTU to offer free AI courses to millions of construction workers in North America

ME News Report, April 21 (UTC+8), according to Beating Monitoring, Microsoft has expanded its partnership with the North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) in North America, offering millions of skilled workers free access to AI general education courses and industry certification programs across North America. The project also collaborates with the non-profit organization TradesFutures, which connects job seekers in 34 states nationwide to union apprenticeship programs and positions. The two parties have previously cooperated, and this time they are expanding the coverage from existing foundations to include the entire union skilled trades community. Microsoft is also currently maintaining similar collaborations with the AFL-CIO, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, and the AFT, the American Federation of Teachers. Several states and federal levels in the U.S. are pushing bills to halt data center construction, focusing on the electricity and water consumption pressures of data centers. By involving unions, Microsoft aims to find local advocates for community acceptance and secure skilled labor supply for AI infrastructure development. (Source: BlockBeats)
