ME News Report, April 21 (UTC+8), Mantle issued a statement regarding the “KelpDAO rsETH attack incident” confirming network security and collaborating with Aave and related protocols to advance the recovery plan, with treasury support included in the recovery assessment. Mantle’s underlying network, official bridge, and core assets are completely secure. LayerZero has confirmed that the vulnerability is entirely limited to KelpDAO’s rsETH configuration, with no contagion to other assets or applications. The attacker did not interact with Mantle contracts or markets. The recent localized liquidity pressure is due to third-party cross-chain vulnerability spillover effects, not an issue with Mantle infrastructure. Protective suspension measures are still in place and will be lifted when deemed appropriate; since April 18, funds have been steadily flowing back into the Mantle ecosystem. On-chain data shows that core USD assets have repaid approximately $204 million within 48 hours, and liquidity conditions are continuing to normalize; Mantle is maintaining active communication with the Aave team and affected protocols to coordinate recovery plans, including potential treasury participation.
