ZachXBT: Kelp DAO attack funds are beginning to be laundered through cross-chain protocols
Techub News reports that, according to on-chain investigator ZachXBT, the attack-related funds involved in the Kelp DAO security incident have begun to show signs of movement. Of these, approximately $1.5 million has been moved from the Ethereum mainnet to the Bitcoin network via the decentralized cross-chain protocol Thorchain, and another approximately $78,000 has been transferred via the privacy transfer protocol Umbra.
ZachXBT noted that the initial funds of the relevant attack addresses all originated from Tornado Cash, and the current money-laundering activity displays clear cross-chain and decentralized mixing characteristics. Earlier reports showed that the Kelp DAO attacker still holds about 75,700 ETH (approximately $175 million) on the Ethereum mainnet, and currently, this portion of the core funds is undergoing highly active laundering and transfers.
