I've always been quite conflicted about the PFP/membership system: some do resemble brands, and after a while, you might want to keep them; but more often, it's just a burst of attention—when you're excited, you change your avatar, join a group, and when you're cold, it’s as if nothing ever happened. Recently, I saw new L1/L2 projects issuing incentives to boost TVL, and old users complain, "Mining, selling," and membership is similar— incentives can attract people in, but whether they stay depends on whether there's real value afterward, not just tasks and slogans.
Why am I so calm... Honestly, it's because I'm used to it: every time I want to impulsively buy or join a membership, I first write down three reasons why I will keep using it after joining. If I can't come up with three, I leave it for a night. The next day, most of the desire is gone, saving myself from becoming liquidity.
