Whoa!! Aave's $ETH liquidity pool has been completely drained, with a $290 million bad debt gap!

The attacker exploited a cross-chain bridge vulnerability, forged $290 million worth of fake rsETH out of thin air, used it as collateral on Aave, and borrowed all the real ETH. Now, the ETH staked in Aave cannot be normally withdrawn.

From Drift to Aave, successive collapses keep happening. The security of DeFi really needs to be questioned.

Sister Long reminds you:

Stop playing with fancy staking, cross-chain, and mining. Holding your money in your own hands is better than anything else.
