Trump: The U.S. Navy will blockade the Strait of Hormuz, intercepting all ships paying tolls to Iran

Abstract generation in progress

ME News Report, April 12 (UTC+8), Trump posted on Truth Social that the meeting went very smoothly, most issues were agreed upon, but the only truly important issue—nuclear issues—remained unresolved. Starting today, the world’s most elite U.S. Navy will begin to blockade all ships attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz. We will ultimately achieve a situation where “all ships can come and go,” but Iran has obstructed this process citing “possible mines in certain areas,” which only they know about. This is extortion on a global scale; world leaders, especially American leaders, will never succumb to such blackmail. I have instructed the Navy to search and intercept all ships paying tolls to Iran in international waters. Anyone illegally paying tolls will not be able to pass safely on the high seas. We will also begin destroying the mines Iran has laid in the strait. Any Iranian who dares to fire upon us or peaceful ships will be blown to pieces! Iran knows better than anyone how to end this crisis that has already destroyed their country
