🔥Andre Cronje: Possibly due to private key leakage or configuration errors, approximately $200 million worth of rsETH was stolen. ETH has been withdrawn from Aave to ensure liquidity.

Sonic Labs co-founder and Flying Tulip founder Andre Cronje stated that an investigation is underway into the L0/rsETH incident. Preliminary reports indicate that it may have been caused by private key leakage or configuration errors, leading to the theft of about $200 million worth of rsETH. These rsETH were deposited into Aave for lending ETH, due to rsETH's insufficient liquidity. The position is technically collateralized; even without collateral, Aave's tokens and security modules serve as the first line of defense against bad debt. Aave has no mechanism to compensate users for losses, and in extreme cases, it could lead to a run on the platform.
