Mars Finance reports that in a discussion about questions posed by the late girl Liv Perrotto, she once asked whether her designed “ASTEROID” could be used as SpaceX’s mascot. In response, Musk said, “Ok.”

Possibly spurred by this news, the Meme coin ASTEROID on the Ethereum chain (first launched in September 2024) briefly surpassed a market cap of $160 million, and it is now at $116 million. Its 24-hour increase is more than 500%, and its 24-hour trading volume exceeds $77 million.

It is reported that before Liv Perrotto, a 15-year-old girl, died of cancer, her greatest wish was to meet Musk, and she wrote down a list of questions she wanted to ask him. She previously took part in designing a zero-gravity instruction toy called “Asteroid”—a Shiba Inu-shaped figure.

Her mother then publicly wrote to Musk, hoping that he would consider naming Asteroid as SpaceX’s official mascot according to Liv Perrotto’s last wish. Musk replied, “I’ll respond very soon later.”
