ME News message: On April 12 (UTC+8), American musician G.Love from Philadelphia said that while replacing his computer and reconfiguring his crypto wallet Ledger, he mistakenly downloaded a malicious counterfeit app from the Apple App Store, causing approximately 5.92 Bitcoins to be fully transferred within a short period. On-chain detective ZachXBT later said that he has tracked the flow of the stolen funds and that the related assets were transferred via CEX deposit addresses. ZachXBT also questioned Apple’s App Store review mechanism, saying that the platform’s allowing counterfeit apps to be listed further amplifies risks to users’ asset security. (Source: BlockBeats)
