April 19th News, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced on the evening of April 18th local time that due to the United States violating the ceasefire agreement and not lifting the blockade on Iranian ships and ports, the Strait of Hormuz has been closed from that night until the U.S. blockade is lifted.
Iran warned that all ships located in the Persian Gulf and Oman Gulf are not allowed to leave their anchorage, and any actions approaching the Strait of Hormuz will be considered cooperation with the enemy, with violator ships becoming targets for attack.
The statement also notified all ships and their owners to obtain information only through official channels and relevant channels of the Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, stating, "The remarks by the U.S. President regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf are completely unreliable." U.S. Media: Trump Holds White House War Room Meeting to Discuss the Strait of Hormuz Crisis
According to Axios, two U.S. officials revealed that President Trump held a meeting in the White House war room on Saturday morning local time to discuss the renewed crisis around the Strait of Hormuz and negotiations with Iran.
The situation with Iran is at a critical moment, with a ceasefire expected to expire in three days, and the final date for a new round of talks between U.S. and Iranian negotiators has not yet been determined.
A senior U.S. official said that if there is no breakthrough in the short term, the war could restart within days.
According to a U.S. official, those present at the war room meeting included Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Rybak, Defense Secretary Hegseth, Treasury Secretary Bessant, White House Chief of Staff Wiles, White House envoy Vitkov, CIA Director Rattliff, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Cain.
An insider familiar with the negotiation details said that after no consensus was reached in the talks, the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz has re-emerged.
