Tanzania police have launched an investigation into the death of Asymmetric’s founder’s fiancée in the crypto hedge fund Asymmetric incident
ME News Report, April 17 (UTC+8), Tanzanian police in Zanzibar are investigating the death of Ashly Robinson, the fiancée of Joe McCann, founder of the crypto hedge fund Asymmetric. Robinson passed away in a hospital on April 9, after being found by hotel staff the previous day. Police initially ruled it a suicide but are still questioning McCann and have detained his passport until the autopsy is completed. Hotel staff stated that the two had a “misunderstanding” and were separated into different rooms. Robinson’s family questioned the suicide conclusion, saying she had celebrated her birthday and engagement just days before her death and was in good spirits. McCann is the founder of crypto hedge fund Asymmetric, which had been criticized by investors for poor performance during market volatility. (Source: PANews)
