Iran claims that U.S. threats to strike Iran's infrastructure constitute a "war crime"

ME News Report, April 6 (UTC+8), Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bagheri condemned the United States’ threats against Iranian infrastructure as “war crimes,” warning that any country assisting Washington will bear legal responsibility. He said, “Undoubtedly, merely issuing such threats is itself a war crime,” and pointed out that the U.S. on one hand talks about targeting “energy and industrial infrastructure,” while on the other hand “gives the green light for Israel to attack civilian targets.” He emphasized that these actions constitute war crimes under international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. “All countries should understand that any cooperation and assistance provided in the course of the U.S. committing these crimes must be held accountable and should be recognized as war crimes and crimes against humanity.” (Source: PANews)
