Deribit: $2.1 billion in options expiring tomorrow, BTC put options dominate
Mars Finance News. Deribit’s official post on X (formerly Twitter) said that at 08:00 UTC tomorrow (16:00 Beijing time), about $2.1 billion worth of cryptocurrency options on the platform are set to expire.
Of these, BTC options have a notional value of approximately $1.63 billion, with a put/call ratio of 1.02. This has flipped from bullish dominance last week to bearish dominance. ETH options have a notional value of approximately $445 million, with a put/call ratio of 0.94, and Ethereum’s open interest (OI) has increased week over week.
Deribit noted that despite overall market volatility, both of the two major assets are currently trading below their maximum pain price levels. BTC’s maximum pain is $71,000, and ETH’s is $2,250.
