Polkadot Bridge Vulnerability: Attacker Claims to Mint 1 Billion DOT Tokens
The incident only affects DOT tokens bridged to Ethereum via Hyperbridge. Assets within the broader Polkadot ecosystem and DOTs transferred through other bridge solutions are not affected by this event.
Polkadot's statement included the following: "Polkadot, parachains, and the native DOT are safe, and there is no risk. Hyperbridge has been temporarily halted while the issue is being investigated."
