A helpful science popularization post—testing whether I’m mildly intellectually disabled.
People with mild intellectual disabilities have various characteristics, including in intelligence, learning, social skills, and daily life.
1. In terms of intelligence: IQ is generally between 50 and 70, slightly lower than that of normal people, but they still have some ability to learn and understand.
2. In terms of learning: Learning ability is relatively poor; the speed of acquiring knowledge and skills is slower than that of people their age, and their academic performance is usually not very good.
3. In terms of social skills: Social skills are weaker; they may not be very good at expressing their own thoughts and feelings, nor at understanding other people’s intentions.
4. In terms of daily life: Their ability to take care of themselves is basically normal, but they may have difficulty handling complex problems or responding to unexpected situations.
