ME News Report, April 5th (UTC+8), Middle East scholar Mohammad Ali Shabani stated in an interview that he believes U.S. President Trump is prepared to fulfill his threat to strike Iran’s critical infrastructure, which could lead to a serious escalation of the regional situation. Iran, on the other hand, has sent a signal to the U.S. by attacking Kuwaiti infrastructure, indicating that it “will not back down.” He added, “The current situation is somewhat similar to a standoff, with neither side able to exit gracefully. In this case, I believe there is a high likelihood of serious escalation in the region within the next 24 hours.” (Source: ChainCatcher)
