ME News message, April 1 (UTC+8), U.S. prosecutors will file lawsuits against 10 foreign nationals associated with four cryptocurrency market makers. Three executives have been extradited from Singapore to the United States and appeared in court at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in Oakland on Monday of this week.

The three defendants who appeared were Vortex CEO Gleb Gora, Contrarian CEO Manu Singh, and Contrarian employee Vasu Sharma. After all three were arrested in Singapore in October 2025, they were extradited to the United States.

The companies involved include Gotbit, Vortex, Antier, and Contrarian, and the alleged conduct dates back to 2018. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) accuses the above companies of fabricating fake trading volumes through methods such as wash trading, matched orders, and prearranged trading, artificially propping up token prices, creating a false impression of liquidity prosperity, and attracting retail investors to enter the market before insiders sold off their holdings.
