ME News message, on April 4 (UTC+8), Iran’s Air Defense Joint Command commander, Ali Reza Elhami, said that while inspecting Iran’s Army and Islamic Revolutionary Guard defensive positions that day, Iran has “made preparations to ambush the enemy’s fifth-generation fighter jets and advanced unmanned drones” by using newly developed methods and equipment it developed independently. He said that in earlier battles, Iran’s air defense forces successfully shot down several of the enemy’s advanced fighter jets, more than 160 drones including “MQ-9,” “Hermes,” “Lucas,” and other drones jointly used by the U.S. and Israel for infiltration, as well as dozens of cruise missiles. Before the enemy launched its offensive actions, they took “timely and precise” measures. In addition, among the actions carried out by the Army and the Revolutionary Guard air defense units, multiple enemy fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft were hit, damaged, or crashed. Elhami said that this achievement was due to the innovative application of advanced tactics, modernized equipment, and air defense systems, which threw the enemy into chaos. (Source: PANews)
