European Central Bank Governing Council Member: The European Central Bank will discuss raising interest rates and maintaining current rates.

ME News message. On April 5 (UTC+8), Jin10 News reported that Klaas Knot, a member of the European Central Bank’s Governing Council and Governor of De Nederlandsche Bank, said in a podcast aired on April 4 that the ECB will next discuss options around rate hikes and keeping interest rates unchanged. He believes this will be the focus of the discussion at the ECB interest rate decision meeting on April 30. Although there will be new data available to reference by then, the amount is limited. He added: “Right now, we’re the same as the Federal Reserve—we’re not sure how the interest rate path will unfold. But in any case, we will ultimately make a decision based on the data available at that time.” (Source: Jin10)
