Recently, I've been reviewing some observations about the 2026 crypto market and found that there are quite a few cryptocurrencies worth paying attention to this year, and the market logic is much more rational than before.
Let's start with the two most core assets. Bitcoin remains the bedrock; after spot ETFs have been implemented globally, institutional funds are continuously flowing in. While there are still price fluctuations, the market structure has clearly matured. Ethereum is similar; its ecosystem—DeFi, NFTs, Layer 2 solutions—continues to revolve around it, and developer activity remains high. Holding these two long-term is generally a safe bet.
Next are some ecosystem-based assets. Solana's revival over the past two years is quite interesting. Its high-speed transactions and low fees have boosted its popularity in DeFi and community applications. Also, AVAX, which uses subnet mechanisms to create customized solutions, shows some potential in enterprise applications. Although ADA progresses slowly, it has a solid approach to sustainability and governance.
In cross-border payments, XRP is worth noting. It has made breakthroughs in compliance and institutional partnerships, and this sector still has long-term demand. Stablecoins USDT and USDC may not appreciate in value, but they are increasingly used as cash management tools in DeFi trading, settlement, and risk hedging scenarios, so they are essential in a portfolio.
SUI is a relatively new project with innovative architecture and high capital attention. Its ecosystem is still in early stages, offering significant growth potential, but also high volatility. Dogecoin relies more on luck; it has a strong community and good liquidity, but weak fundamentals. It's suitable for short-term trading rather than long-term holding.
Honestly, by 2026, this market is much more mature than in the past, but risks haven't disappeared. Variables like regulation, technological security, and macroeconomic factors will still influence prices. My feeling is that core assets aim for steady growth, ecosystem assets seek structural opportunities, and emerging projects depend on your risk tolerance.
Ultimately, choosing which cryptocurrencies to focus on should be based on your own risk preferences. The crypto market is highly volatile, so be sure to conduct thorough independent research before making moves.
