I noticed an interesting development in Ethereum's development plans. Vitalik Buterin recently presented a detailed roadmap for network scaling, and there are some noteworthy points.
In the near future, updates are expected as part of the Glamsterdam fork. This involves blockchain-level access lists, the implementation of ePBS, and a multi-dimensional gas system. All these changes aim to make transaction execution more efficient and better control the growth of the network's state.
Regarding the long-term strategy, Vitalik Buterin and the development team are focused on expanding the throughput of blobs. This is critically important for Ethereum to scale without sacrificing performance. Essentially, it’s about creating a more flexible and powerful infrastructure to handle the increasing volume of data.
Personally, I think this approach demonstrates a serious understanding of scaling issues. Vitalik and his colleagues are not trying to solve everything at once but are taking a phased approach, which seems more reasonable. If these plans are implemented as intended, it could significantly impact Ethereum’s competitiveness in the long run.
