ME News message, April 4 (UTC+8): DeepSeek’s new model V4 is expected to be released in the next few weeks, and will run on Huawei’s latest chips. The report, citing five people directly familiar with the matter, says that Chinese tech giants, including Alibaba, ByteDance, and Tencent, have placed batch orders totaling tens of thousands of chips for Huawei’s upcoming chip, in preparation for the V4 release. Two people close to the company said that over the past few months, DeepSeek has been working with Huawei and Cambricon Technologies to assist in rewriting some parts of the model’s underlying code and conducting testing. DeepSeek is also developing two additional V4 derivative models, each optimized for different functions and designed specifically to run on Chinese chips.
