Recently, the name Vitalik Buterin came to mind again, and I can't help but marvel at how a Russian teenager changed the entire blockchain world.

It's a bit incredible to think about. Born in 1994, he has been immersed in the world of coding since he was young. His father is a computer scientist, which provided him with a privileged environment. Starting to learn programming on his own at age 12, he used C++ to develop games. This was not just child's play; he laid a solid technical foundation.

The turning point came in 2011. At 17, Vitalik was introduced to Bitcoin through his father and then dove right in. He didn't just watch the price fluctuations but studied the Bitcoin white paper deeply, immersing himself in cryptography and distributed systems. He also contributed articles to Bitcoin magazines, sharing his insights, gradually making a name for himself in the crypto circle.

Interestingly, he quickly saw Bitcoin's limitations. Simple value transfer, limited scripting capabilities, difficulty supporting complex applications—these issues troubled him. So, Vitalik Buterin began to conceive a more versatile blockchain platform that would allow developers to freely build various decentralized applications. Ethereum was born from this idea in his mind.

In 2013, he made a bold decision: drop out of the University of Toronto. Traveling with a backpack around the world, attending tech conferences and hackathons, he explained Ethereum's vision to developers and investors. Although some questioned him, his firm belief and exceptional technical skills convinced many.

During Ethereum's crowdfunding in 2014, Vitalik Buterin and his team successfully raised about $18 million. The subsequent development process was not smooth—technical challenges, funding pressures, team disagreements followed one after another. But with his deep technical expertise and leadership, he led the team to overcome each obstacle. On July 30, 2015, the Ethereum mainnet officially launched, marking the beginning of a new era in blockchain.

You see, Ethereum is not just digital currency; it's an open-source platform. Developers can build applications in finance, social media, gaming, and more on top of it. The advent of smart contracts was revolutionary—code is law, transactions execute automatically, and no third-party trust is needed. Ethereum's ecosystem rapidly flourished, spawning countless innovative projects, truly transforming the global financial and technological landscape.

Now, Vitalik has become a globally recognized figure, named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people. But he is not arrogant or complacent—instead, he focuses more on technological development, dedicated to improving Ethereum's performance, security, and scalability.

This is the story of Vitalik Buterin—a perfect blend of genius and perseverance. With wisdom and courage, he created Ethereum and brought new possibilities to the world. His journey inspires countless young people to engage in technological innovation and use technology to change the world.
