Yesterday, I was chatting with a friend from the bank about the implementation of AI in the financial system. I originally thought that traditional finance, with its most powerful resources, would be leading the way in AI applications. But my friend said, "We're still waiting for those open-source versions from AI experts, then we'll see how to update our systems and wait for clear compliance pathways."
"Stability" is the badge of honor for traditional finance, but it’s also a straitjacket for innovation.
It made me realize that the "hype" around Web3 is actually a gift.
Here, we are in an extreme environment of "forced learning." There are no dozens of approval layers, only:
a. Rapid iteration: Within two weeks of a research paper being published, there might already be related ZK or Agent real-world testing.
b. Survival anxiety: If you don’t hustle with AI, learn coding, or understand automation, you’ll be eliminated by the market.
While the world is still "waiting and seeing" whether AI can be commercialized, Web3 builders are already experimenting and developing extensive practical projects.
Thanks to this intense competition, we are ahead in the technological time difference.
P.S. The term "bank" here is limited to Taiwan only. Feel free to challenge me.
