Ethereum: The Twilight of the Old Era and the Inevitable Sinking

Ethereum is destined to become a part of history, and this is not an alarmist statement. Looking back, it was simply doing the right thing at the right time, capturing early blockchain dividends. Today, this decade-long monopoly advantage is irreversibly crumbling.
In the wave of technological iteration, Ethereum has clearly fallen behind. While peers have evolved into advanced forms that are "gas-free," hiding complex private keys, signatures, and other barriers off-chain to allow seamless Web2 user entry into Web3, Ethereum remains almost stagnant technically. It still clings to its old architecture, immersed in past glories, with high gas fees and network congestion becoming inescapable shackles.
Even the highly regarded Layer 2 solutions were not born out of a desire for reform but were forced responses under the pressure of high-performance public chains. This is not about innovation but about "surrounding" competitors to maintain monopoly. Ethereum’s focus is on how to continue controlling the market rather than breaking barriers to serve users. This "layered" approach essentially makes users pay for its technical debt.
The saddest part is that Ethereum has been completely hijacked by vested interest groups. They know the current model is unsustainable and that true innovation would threaten their holdings, so they resist fundamental change. This is a doomed defensive stance. When the situation reverses and new public chains with crushing user experience sweep in, Ethereum will have no ability to resist.
These interest groups are well aware of this. Their current strategy is not to save the ship but to switch ships. Before Ethereum’s giant vessel sinks completely, they will jump onto new opportunities with hefty profits, watching helplessly as Ethereum’s value drops to zero and ceding its once-unrivaled market share. The laws of history never change: monopolists who refuse to evolve will eventually be abandoned by the times. $ETH

Interesting perspective, but Ethereum still has strong fundamentals and continues evolving despite challenges ahead
