ME News message: March 31 (UTC+8), two U.S. senators, Richard Blumenthal and Elizabeth Warren, are questioning U.S. SEC Chair Paul Atkins about the resignation of Margaret “Meg” Ryan, the enforcement chief of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ryan resigned on March 16, after serving for just over six months. The senators’ investigation includes questions about whether Ryan’s departure was related to crypto-asset cases, including one involving an investment by the Trump family. The senators asked to review records and communications related to the SEC’s cases involving crypto-asset firms, as well as information about any circumstances in which any settlement agreements and enforcement-division recommendations were overturned. The SEC declined to respond to the letter. White House Counsel David Warrington, in an email statement, said the president was not involved in any commercial transactions that could involve his constitutional duties. (Source: Foresight News)
