There’s big news in the crypto world again! The GateAI product suite is here! Gate AI, Gate Claw, and Gate for AI are the three “game-changers” revolutionizing the way new investors trade cryptocurrencies. Today, let’s test how smart my Blue Lobster becomes after being armed with MCP. No more talking, let’s get to the essentials!

👉 My Blue Lobster is a “Bitcoin Swing Trader,” mainly equipped with a daily scheduled search for the latest news about Bitcoin across the internet. It combines this with the current perpetual contract price of Bitcoin to give me trading suggestions, including entry direction and entry points. It primarily uses two modules: gate-info — market data server, and gate-news — news information server. Every day, it scrapes the latest Bitcoin news to analyze market trends. I also installed the Search X skill, allowing my Blue Lobster to try scraping the latest tweets and trending discussions on X platform. Then it calls the gate-info module to analyze market candlestick data and suggest entry points. I also linked an API and configured the gate-exchange module, but since I’m unsure whether my Blue Lobster is “reliable” at the moment, I haven’t authorized it to execute trades. As I continue to improve the analysis model, I will authorize my Blue Lobster to open positions automatically based on the analysis, just waiting to earn passively.

💪 Now, let me explain how I “arm” my Blue Lobster

Step 1: Configure MCP Server

The MCP service is a standardized protocol connecting AI Agents (like openclaw) with Gate’s encrypted core services, including modules like gate-info, gate-news, gate-dex, and gate-exchange. It can be operated via natural language commands.

Step 2: Link your personal account API key

In the previous step, you need to authorize your Gate account’s API key in the gate-exchange module. You can get this key by creating an API on the page https://www.gate.com/myaccount/profile/api-key/manage. When creating the key, to protect your account and prevent an untrained Blue Lobster from operating your account, set the account permissions to “Read-Only.” Then, just input the installation code provided by Blue Lobster to complete the gate-exchange setup.

Step 3: Quick test

Here, you can do a simple test to see if the MCP service is running properly. For example, try a command to quickly fetch Ethereum market data.

Step 4: Set up scheduled tasks

Scheduled tasks are routines that Blue Lobster performs at specified times or repeatedly. For example, it can analyze market data daily to recommend potential “Golden Dogs” or summarize the day’s news to determine if the market is bullish or bearish. Fill in the parameters as needed. The task description can be written in code or natural language. If you’re unsure how to write it, just tell Blue Lobster your needs, and it will “assign homework” to itself.

🙋 Lastly, I want to mention a small bug I found while using Blue Lobster: When Blue Lobster encounters a long processing task, the message send button in the chat box initially turns “Red Terminate,” but after a while, it changes back to “Send Message.” If you click send at this point, it will interrupt Blue Lobster’s “thinking,” and a message will return saying, “I am processing this, it might take a while. Please ask me again later.” A minor issue, but it doesn’t overshadow the overall experience. What creative skills does everyone’s Blue Lobster have?
