The European Central Bank releases the Appia roadmap to advance the development of Europe's tokenized financial markets

Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 11, According to Cointelegraph, the European Central Bank (ECB) has officially released the Appia strategic roadmap, planning to build a European tokenized wholesale financial market ecosystem anchored by central bank digital currency. The core component of the roadmap, Pontes, is a DLT settlement solution for the euro system, expected to go live in Q3 2026, at which point it will interconnect with the euro system's TARGET payment settlement service. Meanwhile, the ECB has opened a public consultation to gather opinions from the public and private sectors, with a feedback deadline of April 22. Additionally, the digital euro pilot program is set to officially launch in the second half of 2027.
