What is the most suitable age to start a business? It's not 30, but 18!
VR company Oculus founder Palmer Luckey shared his sharp insights on young people starting businesses during a podcast. As a typical case of starting a business at 18, many people praise his courage at such a young age, but he believes that many misunderstand that entrepreneurship at a young age is a high-risk activity. In fact, the opposite is true: at 18 or 19, without family burdens or career obligations, the cost of failure is just time, and entrepreneurial experience can be a valuable addition to your resume.
Compared to part-time jobs or work experiences in school, even failed startups can better showcase your abilities and vision. Conversely, as you get older and become accustomed to high salaries, mortgage payments, and family responsibilities, starting a business becomes a much higher barrier.
