#Strategy加码BTC配置 Tether targets the Southeast Asian payment market, but this time it's not about playing in exchanges, rather fundamentally transforming the daily payment system.
The latest move is investing in Southeast Asian fintech company SQRIL. This company’s work is actually very crucial—opening payment interfaces for banks, electronic wallets, and financial applications. In simple terms, it’s about creating that "invisible channel" through which money can flow. The Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia now fully support local QR code payments, and banks in Malaysia and Thailand have also integrated direct connections.
Data is interesting: Southeast Asia’s QR code payments are expected to reach a scale of $30 billion by 2025, and this is just the beginning. Millions of transactions happen daily at street stalls and online shopping platforms, flowing in the background—many of which could be powered by the Tether-built payment network.
$ETH $SOL $BNB these tokens are active on trading platforms, but what does Tether really want to do?—turn stablecoins from a trading tool into a daily life tool. Once the payment channels are widespread and user habits are developed, USDT will no longer be "something only used in crypto circles," but a true "everyday currency" for scanning codes to buy groceries, send remittances, and make payments.
This move is very strategic: whoever controls the payment infrastructure holds the ecosystem’s discourse power. The Southeast Asian payment boom is right in front of us—who will be the next to follow?
