The expectation of a rate cut by the Fed in December continues to rise. According to CCTV Finance, the CME Federal Funds Rate futures show that the market is currently betting on a 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed in December, skyrocketing from about 40% a week ago to over 80% overnight. The latest CME "Fed Watch" indicates that the probability of a 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed in December is 84.9%, while the probability of maintaining the current rate is 15.1%. The probability of a cumulative 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed by January next year is 66.4%, with the probability of maintaining the current rate at 11.1%, and the probability of a cumulative 50 basis point rate cut at 22.6%.
