The DAT market is taking off, with 210 companies sharing a $145 billion pie.
Recently, a new concept called DAT (Digital Asset Treasury) has emerged in the crypto space. Pantera Capital has invested over $300 million in this sector, and by 2025, the market is expected to balloon to over $14.5 billion, with 209 companies involved in this business.
What exactly is DAT?
Simply put, it’s when a company sets up a dedicated vault to store crypto assets. Instead of individuals buying coins and letting them sit idle, the company issues shares for collective investment and uses various strategies to generate profits.
Profit-making strategies
Two Examples
BitMine Immersion — A treasury focused on Ethereum. Its stock price surged 1100% in a month, making it the largest ETH treasury in the world.
Solana Company — Originally a medical tech firm, it raised $500 million to build a Solana treasury. Why bet on Solana? High throughput, low transaction fees, explosive ecosystem growth, and most importantly, institutional holdings are below 1%—compared to ETH’s 7% and BTC’s 16%, showing huge potential.

DAT advantages:
But risks are real: excessive leverage, market saturation and competition, regulatory uncertainty.
New Trends
Institutions are entering en masse, new L1s like Solana are rising, and RWA (Real World Assets on-chain) is opening up new possibilities—there’s still lots of room for DAT to grow.
