Abstract generation in progress

The KYC verification of Pi Network is a necessary step for users to transfer the mined Pi coin to the Mainnet. If you haven't passed KYC or encountered issues during the verification process, this guide will help you resolve it quickly.

Things to Know Before Applying

Basic Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Have a valid government-issued ID (passport/driving license/national ID)
  • You need to use the front camera of your phone for facial recognition.
  • You must mine on Pi for at least 30 days (not necessarily consecutive)
  • The entire process takes 5-10 minutes

Complete KYC Verification in Five Steps

  1. Open the Pi Network Mainnet and enter the Mainnet Checklist
  2. After completing all prerequisite tasks, the KYC option will be unlocked.
  3. Select your location from the country dropdown menu.
  4. Select the type of document (passport recommended) and upload a clear photo (horizontal shooting is advised)
  5. Fill out the personal information form and complete the facial recognition verification.

How long does KYC approval take?

Under normal circumstances, it takes several days to months, depending on the number of validators in your location. Pi adopts a community verification model—users who have passed KYC help review new applications, and for each verification, you need to pay 1 Pi coin as a reward to the validator.

Check Approval Status

Check the identity verification tag on the profile page of the Pi App. A green ✓ indicates that it has been approved; a loading icon indicates that it is pending review. Alternatively, check the "Wait for KYC results" option in the Mainnet Checklist—green indicates that it has been verified.

Note: Approval criteria and availability vary by country. Some users have reported delays in the Checklist display; please refer to the status in the KYC App.
