Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum's co-founder, is sitting on a cool $1.2 billion. At least that's what Arkham Intelligence reckons in their October 2025 report. They've been snooping around his on-chain assets and known private stash.
ETH is Buterin's golden goose. He's got about 245,000 ETH tucked away. That's a whopping 99% of his crypto portfolio. With ETH at $4,850, we're talking $1.18 billion just in Ether. Crazy, right?
His net worth? It's like a rollercoaster following ETH's ups and downs. He hit the big B in 2021 when ETH crossed $3,000. Peaked at $2.3 billion in November that year. ETH was on fire then.
But 2022 was rough. His on-chain wealth took a nosedive to $320 million. Ouch. Then 2024-2025 rolled around, and boom! Back in the billions club.
Seems Buterin's still the ETH whale to beat. He's got his fins on about 0.9% of all ETH. That slice has been shrinking though. Selling, donating, you know the drill.
He's dabbling in other cryptos too. 10 billion WHITE tokens here, 30 billion MOODENG there. Oh, and he's got a piece of StarkWare. That zero-knowledge tech company was worth $8 billion in 2022. His exact stake? Kind of a mystery.
Arkham's playing it safe with that $1.2 billion figure. Could be more hiding off-chain or in illiquid assets. Who knows?
