The Fusaka update on-chain Ethereum has been postponed to December.

The main developers of the Ethereum blockchain have chosen early December for the preliminary launch of the next major hard fork of the network called Fusaka. Its goal is to scale the network and make it more efficient.

The Fusaka update will be launched on December 3rd, and the increase in BLOB object capacity will occur in two weeks, around December 17th. Then, on January 7, 2026, there will be another change in BLOB object capacity.

BLOB ( from English. Binary Large Object — "large binary object" ) — a data type designed for storing large volumes of binary data.

As a result of the hard fork in the Ethereum network, the current capacity of BLOB objects will increase by more than two times.

Before the update is launched on the main Ethereum network, three public testnets will be conducted from early October to mid-November.

The initial conclusion is that we can use a maximum number of BLOB objects equal to 15 for BPO1 [only for BLOB object parameters] and a maximum number of BLOB objects equal to 21 for BPO2. A total of 5 BPOs are planned for Fusaka, so we can ensure the secure scaling of the main network, the Ethereum developer community ethPandaOps stated.
The Fusaka hard fork will launch a few months after the Pectra update that took place on May 7. It increased the validator staking limit, introduced account abstraction, and made layer two networks more efficient.
